I was blessed to be gifted with a friend's favorite shovel from childhood in the 1960's. The patina reeks of character and immediately struck me to use the shovel for a standing figure. This 5 lb or 2.2 kg sculpture can be placed in your garden or indoors. It's simple charm is a result of combining tools and pieces of metal found in scrap yards and junk piles. The history of the parts lends to the story of this character who stands solidly on its feet with new purpose.
