The vintage railroad spikes used for this sculpture were all found in and around local scrap yards. Smaller 2”- 3” rusted antique floor nails inspired me to create life sized alliums, known to most as the flowers from garlic, which then influenced my creating large, chunkier floral forms. This 30 pound lightweight snowflake—like form can rest in the garden or indoors. As a result of owning numerous spikes, similar sculptures can be created in both full circle or semi circles.
