This gigantic steel flower is unusual because the twelve petals, made with steel rods, have words from a phrase by Victor Hugo integrated into each one. Some of the petal designs are inspired by the pattern of a wing of a cicada..

The center of the flower is a homemade large steel bowl- like form covered in steel mesh. Each of the petals are welded to this form. The entire flower is mounted on a pipe and can be turned manually. Being able to see the greenery below the form, in all 4 seasons, adds to the beauty and delicate quality of this large sculpture.
