I’ve incorporated a segment of a piano that belonged to my family since the 1950’s. It’s a focal point for this sculpture that can be mounted on the wall. Perhaps it resonates with the artist and viewer for their passion for music and nostalgia. The rusted steel sheet is reminiscent of:
Seasons and time gone by
Faded and aging paper.
Alas, music lasts
Hands perform
Roots are uncovered to unearth what is beneath.
And roots cover what is not revealed.
But sound continues.
